How to Use NaviGate App

This overview explains:

  • how to use the interface of Navigate App to develop treatment strategies
  • how to import your own cases
  • how to share the screen for online trainings.

Navigate App is independent from your current laser retinal system and can be used individually by students, online with a video conferencing tool or in face-to-face events.

If you have questions or comments or would like to request access to our case libraries, please contact us at navigate@od-os.com.

1. Develop a retinal laser treatment strategy

With the following steps you can develop a retinal laser treatment strategy for individual case examples using the interface elements of Navigate App.

This may help you to identify pathologic changes in order to plan the treatment.

Size can be adjusted by pulling the yellow surrounding

With the Eraser, Caution Zones, Single Spots or parts of the freeform grid can be deleted.

2. How to import your own cases with Navigate App

Create individual case examples within Navigate App by importing diagnostic images from your iPad.

We recommend good quality visuals for the import of diagnostic images.

Whenever you decide to add individual cases or case libraries to your Navigate App case collection, please make sure that you select the option "Add to existing patient data". Otherwise, your individually added cases will be cleared in this step (the full library will be reset).

3. How to share your Navigate App screen for an online training

In the next steps, we will explain the possibility to share your iPad screen with Navigate App in a video conferencing tool. As an example, we show the GoTo Meeting tool, but the same process works with other tools such as Zoom.

To prepare for the online session, please ensure the following:

  • Download Navigate App to your iPad and register for an account via www.od-os.com/navigate
  • Download the video conferencing app to your iPad
  • Make sure your iPad has a stable internet connection
  • Optional: Create a dedicated case library file which students can import to their own iPad to follow the course interactively (request support from OD-OS via navigate@od-os.com).
